In 1989 he would come back to the Stratocaster with the Fender Eric Clapton model Stratocaster. There is quite impressing story behind this one. Eric Clapton bought six guitars for 100$ each in 1970, he gave one to George Harisson, one to Steve Winwood, and one to Pete. Sold at Pete’s Oxfam auction in May 2000, first to David Bowie/Pete Townshend/Mick Jagger, who gifted the item to U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair; it was returned to auction by Blair and sold for £75,650 to a private collector.more
Yep, I started playing with a fender guitar, i didn't ever thought of playing the guitar until I heard my dad playing his guitar.... So i Said "Dad, I wanna play too and jam with you!" He told me that it was fine and suddenly the next week he appeared with this amazing guitar!
Nothing to add... fat sound, easy to play, super light, awesome sound. It's a truly wonderful world when you have the chance to play with one of these.
My favourite neck on the Fender Reissues. Slight V, good size. I have a CAR hotrod model with Tonezone S in the bridge, no load tone pot (for the bridge pickup) and Air Norton S in the neck. It's my favourite player by far.
