The Xone:3d was a massive addition to my live setup as it enabled me to create a completely custom mapping to control every aspect of the software. The only contact I would have to make with the computer was to look for a track, or to see the software as I was playing. Unfortunately they are now discontinued so the firmware is a bit non-existent but it still works pretty fantastically considering how old it is. The mixer is also absolutely unbelievable, you can't go wrong with Xone Filters, which are a huge element of how I play. I really look forward to picking up the new 4D; this masterpiece's bigger brother.
Looks fun as hell. Like how it's more plain-looking than the 4D (the photo on Equipboard shows the 3D with an Ableton overlay, but the following link shows what it would look like without an overlay: http://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/normal/allen-heath-xone-3d-539216.jpg).
Soon after this one came out it got replaced by the Xone:4D ( which is an Traktor certified mixer for DVS ). It also misses the 4 band EQ the Xone:92 has and which I miss a lot when using this one. Nice to be able to use in a home studio as a sound card / midi controller and dj mixer.
