Bortnick uses an Apple Macbook Air equipped with AbletonLive for live MIDI sampling. He explains at 13:22, saying, “I'm using Ableton Live. I run into a channel of Ableton Live sometimes more than one channel, and then I can use all kinds of plug ins. I can also use MIDI synths, because I'm now using this really cool software MIDI Guitar, which is really ground breaking because you don't need a MIDI pickup; it just works off audio, converts the audio, the pitches that you play even polyphonic, so you can play chords. It converts it into MIDI signals which can then get routed into whatever software you want to use.”more
