I purchased this two years ago after my first bass (Fender Mustang) died due the the neck being bowed too far for suitable playing. Coming from a straight wood generated sound, I was looking for something just as similar and was highly skeptical of a brand I was unaware of. However, this bass surprised me with its solid sound. I have a dual pickup configuration (EMG - neck & bridge) and I get great tonal variation out of this, especially with individual volume knobs, allowing me to mix the pickup tones as much as I want.
The weight and feel of the bass in my hand took a little getting used to coming from a short-scale bass, but I got used to it very quickly and have no complaints about the weight. It's not as heavy as Fender Jazz, but it has enough weight to give me enough confidence in it's build quality, which is superb in itself.
My only issue is with the quality of the tone knob itself and I find myself tightening the quarter jack insert fairly often (Every 3 gigs or so) but overall, the build quality and finish on the bass gets a 4/5 from me.
Overall, I see this as a great bass for beginners or those on a budget. It has a great sound and feel and I see myself using for many years to come.
