From GuitarPlayer magazine, May 2000 issue: "Stompboxes are about the only things in Becks arsenal that are shiny and new. A mainstay in his live and studio rigs is a Boss GT-5. While recording Midnite Vultures, Beck programmed sounds into the multi-effects pedal to make it easier to reproduce the album's tones onstage." (A GT-5 model didn't show up in this site's item list, so I chose the GT-6.)more
"You’ve used a lot of BOSS guitar products such as the GT-6, [GT-8](http://equipboard.com/items/boss-gt-8-guitar-effects-processor), and [GS-10](http://equipboard.com/items/boss-gs-10-guitar-effects-system-with-usb-audio-interface). How have you used those multi-effects processors?" - [BOSS](http://www.bossus.com/community/boss_users_group/1814) asking Marty Friedman.more
This is great for given you access to all those old boss pedal tones. I know I've lost a lot of the original boss stompboxs I've owned over the years, but with this I can get all the overdrives and boosters (as well as some of the more idiosyncratic pedals boss have released) in one floorboard.. it's a great bit of kit that I use all the time along side my other pedals!....great for overdrive tones!
Don't use it in front of your amp. Also don't just stick to the preset patches. Build your own! Use it in your effects loop - play with delays, use the tap function in a live scenario so so that delays sync to songs in real time. Super versatile!
