"After 15 years of using exactly the same pedal board, I am finally ripping it up and starting again. Same idea, but using the @roland_us RC30 looper plus some of their great #fx pedals with beautiful big fat pads that I can trigger without even looking down! It's just the beginning, but exciting (and scary!!) to learn new gear."more
Eight beautiful reverbs packed into one easy-to-use, compact pedal.
Combining high-end sound and wide-ranging versatility, the RV-6 takes pedal-based reverb to the next level. Reaching beyond the capabilities of previous generations, this powerful stomp employs the latest tech and legendary BOSS know-how to make it easy to get amazing reverb tones instantly. From subtle rooms to modern shimmer effects to long, evocative reverbs, the RV-6 envelops your tone in lush ambient spaces that endlessly inspire.
Simply Great-Sounding Reverbs
Packing the latest BOSS DSP and updated algorithms, the RV-6 gives you eight highly musical reverb effects in one compact pedal. Add body and depth to your core tone with standards like Room, Hall, and Plate, dial up swirling richness with the Modulate setting, or surf it up with a vintage-style Spring reverb. Dynamic mode automatically adjusts the effect depth to your playing touch, providing deep, immersive reverb that wont turn your tone to mud. And modern players will love the new Shimmer and Reverb+Delay modes.
Dialed-In Sounds at Your Command
The RV-6 makes getting high-quality reverb sounds with your guitar quick and easy”just select a sound mode, tweak the knobs to taste, and play. But while its operation is simple, the RV-6s sound is rich and sophisticated. Under the hood, each mode includes a huge array of detailed reverb parameters, all perfectly tuned for guitar by the BOSS engineers with direct input from many pro players and engineers. Even as you adjust the selected mode with the Time and Tone knobs, many parameters are simultaneously adjusted inside to create the ideal voicing for every setting.
Analog Dry Tone and Versatile I/O
While the RV-6s reverb effects are high-tech digital, you can rest assured that your straight guitar tone always remains pure analog as the effect is blended in. Convenient auto-switching jacks let you integrate with any pedal chain, with support for mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-stereo operation. And by plugging into the B input only, the RV-6 outputs a 100-percent wet sound, great for working with more complex rigs that employ parallel processing chains and mixers. Theres also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play.
After owning 2 RV-5 pedals and a Blue Sky, I have to say this is my favorite reverb by far! It takes the famous RV-5 modulate setting and increases the quality big time. The tone control is actually usable in every position, and the other settings beside modulate sound good as well. Plus, you have shimmer and delay+reverb as an option! And the expression jack is a great addition. If this had a favorite switch like the Blue Sky, this would be the end all of all reverb pedals.
When it comes to performing originals or some covers the 'shimmer' setting is perfect for what I need. That really cool space effect. More control over the amount of effects being inputted when an expression pedal is attached.

This is a great digital reverb pedal. I personally have never really like digital reverb pedals as I always preferred an analogue pedal due to the feel of the reverb but this pedal hits the nail on the head. I got mine for £100 last year and I can see it being moved off my pedal board for years to come. It has tones of effects from your normal room/hall sounds all the way to modulation and even a little all be it not very good in my opinion delay function. But for £100 you can't go wrong with this little beast easily on of the best mid-low range pedals on the market at the moment.
They are, and they will always be, one of the best pedal manufacturers in the world. Like every company out there, they produce a lot of crappy pedals. But this one is an exception.
I was out there looking for a reverb pedal for quite sometime. But i was avoiding stuff like Strymon, Empress and Eventide. I even considered Neunaber and MXR but I could bring my self to spend over 200€ on a reverb pedal.
I went to a local music shop to see what they had and try a few options. I always thought I would go for a TC Electronic Hall of Fame. Maybe even a Digitech Polara. But never, ever, have I thought I would go for a Boss Reverb pedal, weather it'd be an RV-5 or and RV-6.
I was let down by the TC HOF, but was very, VERY, surprised when I played the RV-6: great reverb, that can compete with other higher priced reverbs.
The Modulation reverb is an interesting mode, and I can definitely see myself using this in the studio for some ambient stuff.
The Spring reverb is cool and all, and maybe it's because it's not my cup of tea, but I couldn't find it anywhere decent, felt too digital, too fake for my ears.
The Plate and Hall reverbs are spot on. It can be subtle at lower Time settings, and it can be quite aggressive but still very musical at higher settings. It does not get the sound too washed in effect. (you can still use the output B to get JUST the wet signal, and blend in the two outputs, in the studio, or send them through two different amps, in a live setting.
The Room reverb is very well designed. It can produce a subtle "presence" to the sound, and even if you "crank" the pedal, it does not get out of control.
The Dynamic mode is quite interesting and, honestly, one of the reasons I bought this pedal. It is very musical, and responds very well to your playing. It sits well in the mix and can fill the space around without feeling like "too much". One of the modes I use the most.
The Shimmer mode was one of the new additions to the RV family, and it is awesome! it just makes me feel like doing swells and ambient/atmospheric stuff all day long. You can adjust the brightness of the octave voicing with tone, so it can me more subtle and suit your needs better.
The +Delay mode is ok. I fool around with it, in juncture with my Ibanez DE7 to produce some ping-pong-ish guitars. it is a great delay if you need one, but I don't see myself using this mode, other than to making some experiences, since I have a delay pedal in my board already.
All in all, it is a great Reverb unit. Within its price range, It is safe to say that it is one, if not, the best bet you can make. You won't regret it.
