This bass is gorgeous. It is my first experience with fretless. It takes time getting used to and figuring out finger placement because it doesn't have fret lines like a lot of new fretless basses have today. The cheater dots on the side of the neck are in the same place as they would be as if it were fretted.
I have had feedback issues when plugged into an amp, but have learned to move to certain areas away from my amp to keep this from happening. The pre-amp has Aphex circuitry which when used with the EQ provides some awesome sound combinations. I always get compliments for the looks of this bass. I just learned from Elliot Dean Rubinson that Dean no longer uses the Aphex circuitry in their newer issues of this bass (and entire line of acoustic guitars and acoustic basses) because Aphex was sold.
This being for my first try at fretless I didn't want something expensive nor an electric because I don't want the hassle to have to go plug it in. I have this out near my bed and grab it when I want to practice fretless. It is right next to my fretted Gloss Natural version of the same bass.
