> This is the Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face Mini Chrome Edition from Dunlop. This limited edition miniature Fuzz Face harnesses the power of the Band of Gypsys fuzz into a compact size with an unparalleled finish. The sound of the Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face is inspired by a mystery Fuzz Face used by Hendrix in some of his most famous live performances, and then lost to history forever. Rumor has it that the pedal's circuit was an Octavio without the transformer and associated octave-up overtones, leaving behind a gnarly fuzz tone that Hendrix made the most of. Dunlop then gave the enclosure the treatment that such an important circuit deserves, by dressing it up in a high-gloss chrome enclosure that will make the other pedals on your board jealous. Like every Dunlop pedal, the Band of Gypsys Mini Fuzz Face Chrome is designed and built in California, USA and available only at ProGuitarShop.com.
moreIt didn't take long to dial in a great sound. I struggled with the Eric Johnson fuzz not cutting through in a mix, but this has the right frequencies for me and I got to play it in a live scenario and was very pleased! Mini fuzzes are a blessing, with the 9v plugin and compact size, this is the only way to fuzz now days.
I run the compressor after and paired with a DOD Looking Glass (matching chrome) I get a smooth sustaining lead tone.
