For some reason during the perfromance he taped over the logo, but it's a Stingray. https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1920&bih=949&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=O8jxWvjCJajFgAaK96D4CQ&q=fred+sablan&oq=fred+sablan&gs_l=img.3..0j0i30k1j0i24k1l2.6649.10215.0.105220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.779.10j1.11.0....0...1c.1.64.img..0.13.803...35i39k1j0i67k1.0.WZFnmiwJWt4#imgrc=WdntK9fdalEIfM:more
Great bass, it has great tone, and a very decent neck. the only issue is that when i bought mine (at guitar center) there were at least 5 of them and only 1 of them met my standards, the one that i walked out of the store with.
This bass is a really solid bass, the only things i´d consider feeling cheap was the pickups. I changed them to some good "Lundgren Pickups" and now it plays like a dream.
Got this for my wife on Valentine's day and we both adore it. The active pickup responds extremely well and creates a clear output, while its large basswood body gives a very tight low-end presence to all of the strings. My wife especially loves the skinny neck; it is very thin which makes the guitar comfortable to play on. It has some fret buzz on the larger strings, but that isn't a deal breaker. Overall, it is a wonderful bass and fun instrument to jam with.
I've played several music man sting rays/ sterlings and such and have to say that this bass is the closest you'll probably get without dropping $1k plus! By all means if you have the cash get the stingray or sterling. But this bass won't leave you disappointed. Its has the same feel and weight and balance, and that huge, wonderful, active pickup. It sounds darn good too! Its a very playable bass. The only difference is you don't have a control knob for the mid range. But with good EQ levels ( on the guitar and amp) this thing will rock your face off! I love it. I think they go for around $400 usd. Great bass!
