An equalizer is probably the tool you use most while mixing and mastering, so you need the best of the best! As you can expect from FabFilter, Pro-Q gets you the highest possible sound quality and a gorgeous interface with unrivaled ease of use.

My favorite EQ. You can really dial in on your freqs.
The Mid/side mode where you can EQ the mid and side signals separately is what brought me here.
Sebastien Benett's MacBook screen (seen in the lower left corner of the photo) shows a couple plugins he is using as he's producing in the studio. Judging by the EQ curves and the overall look of the plugins, they look to be instances of the FabFilter Pro-Q (photo from April 2014).more
“We’ve long been searching for the perfect equaliser and last year we found it. The FabFilter Pro-Q has a frequency analyser where you can monitor the consequences of your sound design. It also has a mono/stereo switch and even a left/right switch, so you can EQ all the different elements of the sound with just the one plug-in, making it unique. We use it on nearly every channel of the mixer.”more
In his reddit ama, when asked what his "favored workhorse plug-ins" are, Villem replies, "Fabfilter Pro-Q, UAD plugs, [Izotope Ozone](http://equipboard.com/items/izotope-ozone-6)." COFFEY: What are you using these days for production? Hardware, software, all in box, etc? KURSA: KRK Rokit 8 G2?s, MacBook Pro, Logic 9, Camel Audio (Alchemy and Fabfilter Pro-Q are featured in everything I do!) Oh, and most recently my Nintendo DSi with the Corgi DS10 game is going to be featured in a LOT of my works. I love it so much :Dmore
This is really my favorite EQ. I ve tried many free EQ before that, and it seemed that they always had colour to the sound, which could be then difficult to mix. The processing is very professional though and can not be applied to filter effects as well.
Personally, I believe that a great graphic display and simple workflow ergonomics are paramount to a fantastic equalisation plug-in and FabFilter's Pro Q checks both of these boxes. It is for this reason that I absolutely love this Plug-in!
This is an amazing EQ plugin and it is very very quick, i like how it more or less guesses whether you want a HPF or LPF according to where you click. The HD display also makes it much easier to see every single frequency you want to manipulate on its spectrum analyser. Also the amount of points and curves you can make allow so much freedom to mix however you want. The frequency automation is also very responsive which is great.
