"Matt started out in Weezer with some gear that he later called 'awful and embarrassing'. His amp ... was a Gallien-Krueger 800RB. He had it since he was a teenager and it served him well right up through the mid-90's Rentals era. Where it is today is unknown." - Karl Koch, weezer.commore
Karl Koch, webmaster of official Weezer site and longtime friend of the band writes, "The amplifier, a Gallien-Kruger 800RB, remained in use until the Feb. 2001 "Outloud" tour, as a backup head. Mikey said he has been using it since he was a teenager ("my first amp"), and it's still going strong!"more
"For years I used an SWR SM-400 with the Goliath Jr 4x10 or 2x10 for smaller gigs. I burned it up on the first Fantomas tour and it hasn't been the same since. At that time I bought a GK 800 as a spare but now I use it for loud gigs." – [Trevor Dunn on his Gallien Kruegger 800 RB](http://www.trevordunn.net/geek.html)more
"Which amp are you using? I am using a Sunn Concert Bass head and a Musicman cabinet with one 15? speaker in it. My bass player boyfriend and I were touring in the US and I had this Ampeg Super Jet guitar amp. One night he mentioned that with the frequency ranges I was using I might like a bass amp. Some other people had also floated that idea; so one night I asked him if I could plug into his bass amp. I loved it and played through it for the rest of the tour: a Gallien-Kruger 800RB through two 12? PA speakers."more
