"Noel [Gallagher] still has the Les Paul. It was a 1960 sunburst (refinished) that was given to Pete Townshend by Joe Walsh. The machine heads were replaced before I got it. I used it on "Panic" by The Smiths, also "London", "Ask" and "Half A Person"." This was one of Johnny's main live guitars during 1986. It has a very pronounced flame top, and more of a cherry finish than his '59 Les Paul. The bridge humbucker is uncovered with white/cream bobbins. This guitar was previously owned by Pete Townshend, and I'm assuming that it was in the group of guitars that Johnny bought from Alan Rogan. It was given to Noel Gallagher in 1994(seen here, here, here and here), it was used in the "Live Forever" video. Noel broke the guitar during a stage fight, and was subsequently given Johnny's 1972 Les Paul Custom as a replacement. Source: http://www.smithsonguitar.com/2008/12/johnny-marrs-gear.htmlmore
Mick Mars acquired a 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar, but has admitted to it not being 100% stock.
On [his website](http://jbonamassa.com/joes-guitar-of-the-week/guitar-of-the-week-51-1960-gibson-les-paul-standard/), Joe Bonamassa talks about his 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard, saying, "Serial # 0-0137 indicates that it is one of the first batch of 1960 Les Paul’s produced. This particular example is named “Batman” by me and “The Babe” by its former owner and one of my great friends and fellow collector. I decided to rename the guitar to pay tribute to the unique factory installed Bigsby tailpiece and unique batman style cosmetic flange under the ABR-1 bridge. Ordered in 59 and delivered in early 1960 to its loving owner of 51 years. You say you want one just like this? Well you are in luck because Gibson reissued over 200 of them as collectors choice #3."more
