Eric Clapton said that he bought this guitar "...for nostalgic reasons..." wanting "... to recreate the same experience as the psychedelic guitar ..." he'd used with Cream [see illustration]. He thinks that this model is ..."an incredible design.." but found that he couldn't switch back into using it having got so accustomed to Fenders. Deryck Whibley writes on the Sum 41 page: "I love this guitar. It's a '62 Gibson Les Paul. When they first introduced this guitar in '61 it was supposed to be the new Les Paul. it wasn't called an SG until 1963, so for the first year and a half you can find SG's that say Les Paul on them. This one sounds great. i've used this on "Walking Disaster" and "Pull The Curtain." I bought this around the time we were making Underclass Hero and used it throughout that record. I haven't used it much since then, but looking at it now makes me want to use it more on this new record. I''ll let you know what songs it makes it onto!"more
