I own this as my first serious guitar for performances and recording, but the stock pickup is weak, active with AA batteries, i've managed to replace it with EMG sets and turns up the guitar to a metal monster machine, but i quit playing metal music so i replace it again with a set of Duncan JB/59'. And now this guitar is the most versatile guitar i've ever had.
Got mine about 5 or 6 years ago now. Think I paid £300ish maybe less. It was the first decent guitar I got. It came standard with active pick ups powered by two AA batteries. They did sound pretty great but the electronics eventually died about 2 years ago. I put it on ebay and thankfully the guy didn't materialize. Last year I put EMG 81/85 combo in it. I did not get on with them and sold them. I now have so PAFs in there, an alnico 2 neck and an alnico 5 bridge pick up. The guitar plays amazing still and the neck has never needed adjusting, its still dead straight after all this time. The Gibraltar bridge is awesome and I like the quick change tail piece too. All in all its an excellent guitar with a mahogany body and neck and a maple cap.
