According to a photo on The Offspring's website, Dexter Holland can be seen playing an Ibanez RG 570 U.S.A. Custom. It has a chrome diamond-plate finish on top and matte black sides and back. He also has the same guitar but with a black diamond-plate top with the same matte black sides and matte black back A mahogany body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, offset fret inlays and a custom twelfth fret inlay. He has used it in many concerts and was the guitar he used in the music video for "(Can't Get My)Head Around You".more
I have only owned 5 guitars and am an intermediate player and after 30 years of goofing around practicing I'm finally doing some small gigs. This one has been my favorite since the day I got it back in the 90's, accounting for 90%+ of all of my guitar playing. I don't know much about guitars and equipment, but I do know that almost any other guitar I pick up has a thicker neck and just isn't as easy and smooth to play. It has incredible sustain and I can dial the sound in to match Santana or Satriani with my Peavy Amp. This sound just pleases me.
I had the serial number checked out and learned that mine is a pre-1992 Japan made guitar. That apparently is a good thing, along with having kept the original pickups, at least for resale value. I wouldn't change anything, except... the Floyd Rose is a pain. I have grown accustomed to it, and accept that it's part of the experience. I guess I could change that out, but I've been thinking I should just add another guitar instead.
