I managed to snag FL Studio 11 XXL during a massive sale that ended with me purchasing it for 147 USD. That price plus lifetime updates, there is a lot for me to love about FL, and that is before getting into the usefulness of the actual program.
So many producers have started out with (and are still using) FL Studio that I can't help but imagine the benefits of knowing how to use this DAW. A native Mac version is on the rise too (http://www.flstudio11.com/fl-studio-cto-confirms-native-mac-version/) so it wouldn't be a bad investment.
People say that FL Studio is a toy for learning producers, but in the right hands, it is a creative FORCE. It's a friendly design, and with a massive online community of fellow FL Studio users, you can almost always get help if you need it.
Back in 2013 I had no idea how to deal with the interface. nevertheless its been 3 years and I still use for fun and music comes outta nowhere.
It's so easy to work with! The mixer is excellent with the ability to route multiple instruments to one track is amazing. Don't even get me started on the tiny movements of the automation system. The only problem that I have with it is that it is pattern based only.
