Let me start off by saying that I've played a Jackson USA stock (dinky i believe) and I have played a custom shop one. Very few differences. The finish of this guitar has 2 nearly microscopic black dots in the finish (a minor gripe), the FR special is nothing special, good for anything that isn't Steve Vai-ey, the Duncan Designed pickups are fine. I've never been a fan of the 59 neck pickup, but my take on it is that its good for Hetfield-ey cleans, but almost nothing else. It basically takes an already muddy position (the neck) and adds bass. The bridge pickup is a JB replica, but it's ceramic. Not huge into the JB, but if you are, it won't disappoint. Fret job is good for the price, and so are the tuners. If you buy it, just know that you'll need to tighten the pots, as well as the input jack.
Final Verdict: One of the best guitars at the price, great bang for buck. Buy and you won't regret it. As far as bang for buck guitars, I'd recommend Jackson, Schecter, PRS, and Chapman. I can understand that some don't like Jackson necks, I didn't for the longest time, so if you're not a fan, get a Schecter, a PRS, or a Chapman.
