When asked how he made the track "Remember (Summer Sun)," Paavo responds in the Anjunabeats Forum: "The whole track (apart from a pad sound) was done on my laptop and there's all sorts of virtual synths there... the only external synth i used was the jp-8080 for the pad in the chorus. I just wanted to add a pad and didn't have enough power to run my sample of it off an exs-24."more
During a studio tour with Future Music Magazine, Steve Mac says [@ 14:02] about his Roland JP-8080: “I haven't used this much recently. It's known for the big super-saw sound. That's why everyone sort of bought them. It's got some good features on it. The vocoder section is something I want to mess around with more to be honest."more
There is nothing to say: SuperSaw. Original, unique and remarkable in every anthem! Download my soundset for it: https://www.mysteryislands-music.com/vendor/gokosoul/
I just got it and still discovering it but so far I'm very pleased with this classic synth. I'm waiting on my mic to try to vocoder and this bad boy.
Use it for some digi short bass sounds, backing sounds also. Wide Pads modulated by osc for pitch or amplitude. Dont like the issue with the attack in the ADSR section.. but overall a creamy sounding and also a harsh synth for add´s and fat pads.
Great synth, a bit big, but the feedback filter is just pure awesome. It has a plastic sound which not everyone likes but it's a good opposite to the analog synths I own. Only downside is, this thing keeps aging and with use it keeps dissolving and the knobs get a bit wobbly (but not more than other older synths)
If you love the feedback oscillator and don't want to buy that bulky synth it can be reproduced with Oscillator/s + Feedback + Comb filtering ... this seems to do the "transfromer" magic in the jp8080 feedback osc.
