Derrick Martell Rose is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. Born in Chicago, Rose learned the game of basketball from his three older brothers and played for the University of Memphis Tigers and reached the NCAA national championship game in 2008. In his first year of professional basketball, Rose was voted the Rookie of the Year and in his second season, Rose was selected as an NBA All-Star for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. In 2011, he received the NBA Most Valuable Player Award, becoming the youngest player ever to win this award.
