You are most certainlyy paying for a block of aluminum, but this machine is quality, with a few neat tricks!
it's good but just because its new... that's it
The laptop in general is so different in comparison w/ the last recent macbook products apple has released so far. Obviously the trackpad is huge and the keyboard is very flat, it feels like you're typing on a straight wooden table. There's a big improvement in the GPU too. There's also an exclusive invention in the laptop surface just above the keyboard (i.e) OLED screen, you can adjust the volume, brightness emojis and stuff.
A bit of a fuss with the USB-c Thunderbolt ports as I may need converters but not bad.
for my Holiday, i go around the places for looking some fresh air, and fresh new Chords in a Laptop so i always bring my 17inch Macboook Pro.
I'm using the 2018 MacBook Pro (15 inch, i9 Model). Not just for editing my set, also this macbook control my school theater display & lightning. it's really big... about 210 inch... I just I can't believe just laptop to control the display & a lot of lightning... a lot of my friends using MacBook Pro too.. but only my MacBook Pro can handle this... If my friend's MacBook control this thing, it just crash and always restart... Apple, i really appreciate it... If you are video, music, lightning editors... this MacBook is right for you...
This laptop is my daily driver for music but it fucking sucks ass that there aren't any port on this shit. To use my usual setup I need 5 adapters or "dongles" to use it. USB C is super good but I'll take convenience over a lighter laptop. But this is an amazingly fast and responsive computer. The screen is bright and crispy af. I personally would go with the 2015 15" Macbook Pro because ports are very important when you produce on a laptop.
I needed a computer with more than 3.0 ghz of processing power in order to run my plugins smoothly, so i customized it to run at 4.8 ghz for speed. apart from ableton, i also use Logic Pro X, having the Touch Bar feature gives me fast and easy controls to navigate and control my software when I'm on the go or in the studio. for me the studio is anywhere ideas spark up. i upgraded to this computer for three main reasons- it runs Logic Pro X, fast processing power, and long battery life. the other features to me are just bonuses.
if you are traveling or knowing you are going to be out and bout and your a producer this is the one for you 16gb of ram does you good but the least you could do is 8gb the minimum
This is the replacement of my old MBP early 2011. I'm loving everything on this machine, including the controversial touch bar.
