An Afrojack Instagram shows he produces on a MacBook Pro running FL Studio (likely using Bootcamp to install Windows on his Mac). The photo also shows Afrojack using Beyerdynamic DT 770 Headphones plugged directly into the laptop's audio input, which probably makes the headphones the 80 ohm version, since those can be adequately driven with portable devices (thanks to Equipboard member alesmasek for the great explanation!).more
In this photo from Facebook, Paris is seen lounging with his MacBook, running FL Studio. This laptop is lacking the "MacBook Pro" letters beneath the screen, which is a signature trait of the new Retina models. Additionally, the edges alongside the keyboard are too wide to be the 13" model, so it must be at least the 15" model.more
In this video of Kill Paris playing bass, a MacBook Pro can be spotted on the left of the shot. The width of the charger tip suggests that the charger is the MagSafe 2 model, and the width on either side of the keyboard is too large to be either of the MacBook Air models or a 13" model, so it must be at least the 15" model.more
7 Skies speaks at length about his use of a laptop— namely, the MacBook Pro— in his production setup. "This is the setup. Uh, everything is run by a MacBook Pro... retina display... you're probably like, 'you're using a laptop? How do you do this whole thing?' Yeah, I'm using a laptop... if you get the Retina display, there's enough power to run huge projects." He then lists the specifications of that particular laptop, which includes a 2.7gHz processor, which was indicative of the 15" model when the Retina line was first introduced.more

Using the Macbook Pro Retina 15" mostly on the road.

In this Instagram photo from July 2014, which Cookie Monsta captions, "Workin' on dem beats. LA to San Diego" he can be seen working on a track using Reason, running on his 15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display. In the comment thread, he replies to a user, saying, "@kieran_ye Its the 15inch Retina screen one"more

Being an apartment complex-based electronic music producer, I don't have all the room in the world to have a gigantic modular synth setup or anything, so I ended up buying a maxed out macbook. It gives me all the power and storage I need, and I've never looked back since.
Even after 4 years of using nonstop, it's still holding up really well. Runs the newest version of Logic Pro X with all my plugins including Serum, Tonebridge, and Nexus with little to no problems. Although I do have to say the speakers have lost their sound quality over the years.
i use a 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro to produce and dj, along with Wine to produce my tracks in fl studio on it. it's powerful, has a great screen, and OS X is an extremely solid operating system. 5/5 for me.
Best Laptop/Computer. Everything i do is on this machine, apple included powerful custom features etc. this is a monster Laptop i use for producing and DJing maximum power with outstanding performance and no limitations
This is my first Mac, I bought it so I could have a computer just for producing and live sets. At the minute I am trying to learn Ableton, but I still use FL studio on both my Macbook and old laptop (I don't want to abandon it just yet!)
It's a Apple Computer, Very Good Hardware, Quick Software but not such a great compatibility, also it features only 2 USB3.0 connectors
