Neutron 2 is a channel strip plugin, containing EQ, Gate, 2x Compressor, Exciter and Transient shaper - in a single plugin in Standard, or also in separate instances in Advanced version - followed by a sophisticated limiter and utility output. The defining feature of Neutron is Track Assistant, which will listen to your track, recognise the instrument and propose a initial preset including any and all of the components listed above and their settings, for you to tweak from there.
Other important features include: - all components are multiband, some of them have "Learn" feature that helps to find appropriate band split points, - EQ has a Masking Meter feature, that allows to check for and visualise overlaping frequencies between two tracks, gives access to EQs on both tracks and allows to make necessary adjustements, incl. dynamic sidechained EQ (e.g. a kick on one track will trigger a hi-pass filter on bass track), - new in v2 Tonal Balance Control allows to compare the frequency profile of your mix to 3 default presets (modern, bass heavy, orchestral) or to customised profiles created by user from single track or folder of tracks; direct access from Tonal Balance Control to Neutron 2 plugins' EQs allows to make adjustments on the fly, - new in v2 Visual Mixer gives control of volume, panning and width of all the tracks in your mix (containing either Neutron 2 or Mix Tap that's part of the package) from single window, allowing to save & compare 3 snapshots,
This plugin has many mixing tools built in to one convenient place. Each module within Neutron is loaded with presets, which can be good as a place to start when trying to discover just how to create the sound you're looking to create. Another interesting feature with Neutron is the separate Visual Mixer plugin, which kind of gives just a little added tweak to various elements of the sound at the end of the mixing stage.
