at 2:07, you can see the black on the top of the control graphics extends about twice as far as the switches. This happens on the Thunderverb series of amps. It's tough to tell whether it would be a 50 or 200. (The Rockerverb series black color only extends about 1.5x as far as the switches.)more
JON DAVIS OF CONAN “I’ve been using some excellent vintage amps for several years, including some old Orange heads. I wanted to buy some modern amps that give me the tone and warmth of the vintage heads I have become accustomed to. I’ve used several modern Orange heads at festivals and these have included the Thunderverb 200, the OR50 and OR100. I was initially curious about the sound and then became pretty much hooked on them. They have all the warmth of the older amps I like, but none of the reliability issues.”more
Assuming its the selected amp but not quoted as to the exact version: "Aside from firing up a cornucopia of living-the-dream amp heads, including a Marshall Plexi, Diezel VH4 and Orange Thunderverb, Joe’s other great discovery on All That Divides was a quick-fire alternate tuning. While he usually opts for D standard, with the odd drop-C sledgehammer thrown in, he explains that one small tweak was behind a number of the album’s highlights and his now-trademark chord drones."more
The all-tube Orange Amplifiers Thunderverb TH200HTC amp head offers channel switching with a footswitchable attenuator, a tube FX loop, tube-driven reverb, and a thundering 200W of power. The Orange TH200HTC amp is armed with 2 clean/crunch/lead channels each with 3 gain stages. Channel A has the same 3-band EQ as the lead channel on the Orange Rockerverb series amps. Channel B offers a shape control that scoops the mids and increases the bass and treble when turned up.
The Orange Thunderverb head's footswitchable attenuator is great for those really loud lead breaks. Nothing can match the TH200HTC amp's bone crushing, bottom-end punch that makes this a big-stage tone machine. Even when used quietly, you know that with the Thunderverb amp you're commanding serious power. The Orange amp head's full 3" Dual Snake 8 transformer ensures that the bottom end is kept fast and tight and the upper mids and top end stay sweet and musical at any volume. Thanks to its extended tonal range you can even use the revolutionary TH200HTC Orange Thunderverb amplifier as a bass head.
