Better than Budget!

Bought for £200.

I'd read that it was lacking low end but the low end is what drew me to this guitar in the first place so not sure about that. Really light, easy to play and sounds great. The pre-amp is no thrills but totally does the job. The tuner can be a bit annoying at times. It seems relatively well made mine has taken a few knocks that sound and feel like they did more damage than they actually did.

Overall for a starter guitar thats gonna last you a while I think you would struggle to do better, It really is so much guitar for the price.

Great For Rough Ideas and a bit more (I'd do just under 4 box things if I could)

OK in short. Start with the phantom power issues it's a little annoying but it takes less than 10 seconds to restart and up until this point I've never lost any work its never posed a problem in any sort of way that would effect anything other than mild frustration. Loads of effects by no means as good quality or with the wide array tweaking options if you bought the FX pedals instead. But gives you a good idea of where to start with the necessary equipment when you get to the final draft and record or play live. Very clear sound and when you use the bulit in mics they do an amazing job of recording a room full of instruments, obviously it sounds rough but it's clear enough to pick out each instrument and really good for recording band practices. When recording a track at a time or recording say a rhythm guitar and vocal track simultaneously there are some times volume issues with one drowning out the other especially with the more distorted or heavier effects. This is my first and only digital recorder so have nothing to compare it to but overall really easy to use and with many other options and things to experiment with. Its really good for getting down ideas and its good for creating more ideas on top of that. Things you may not have thought of. I could go on but am not going to, i said in short, any questions feel free to ask.

Peavey Bandit 112

This 'reveiw' could be more a reveiw of my own ineptness than on this amp. But I have had this for over 10 years and still don't have a clue how to get even close to the sound I want, its needlessly complicated. I won't go into details on that, what I will say is I bought a Fender Champion 40 took me like a couple days and I'm getting it, dont get me wrong still messing around finding new sounds but with an understanding of how I'm getting there. And most importantly the Champion sounds so much better than the Bandit almost on every option.

I'm not saying the Champion is the best amp in the world, but I do think the Bandit is one of the worse.

if you want a GOOD sound, then the problem is the amp and not you... even your fender is not much of an amplifier

it should not take more than 3 minutes to dial an amp in to sound like you

Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus (Charcoal Transparent)

Ok not sure where to start, I really like this guitar. I dont think that there exists a more versatile guitar, at least not one this well made and by a company like Fender.

I've heard a few times about this being a beginner guitar, the main reason I can think this is because of it's incredibly good price. It is perfect for beginners in certain ways I guess because of all the options and it's standard C shape, scale and fret radius. It will help you to discover the feel and sound you want from a guitar, so that when you progress you know what you need and what you dont. Or if your like me and like a wide vareity of genres, then this guitar can do almost all of them. Simply down to the pick up configuration.

The only problem with any of the 7 settings is splitting the humbucker, it gives off a kind of weak, flat sound. Thats not to say that it's useless I just can't imagine using it for an entire song. And also with some added effects it could be made into something very unique. The rest give very nice tones that I wont try descibe when you can hear it on youtube.

Aesthetically I was a little dissapointed when I saw it only came in 2 colours both a just different shades of brown. I opted for the darker (Charcoal Transparent) but when you see it in person you'll find it difficult to find anyone who doesn't just think it's black, the pictures really dont do it justice so bear that in mind. The glossed maple with the 'skunk stripe' (not sure if it has a proper name) neck. Well overall it's just a really classy looking guitar.

Well built, great looks, great varied sounds, great price!

Very truehowever you can have justification but still no money, and if that is the case this guitar is the way to go. If you have the money go for the 10 and more.
