in late 2007, Max Bemis(Say Anything, Two Tongues) was recruited by Thomas Dutton(Forgive Durden, Cardiknox) to provide the vocals for the character of Barayas the Spider in the recording of Forgive Durden's Album/Musical, Razia's Shadow. Dutton had written Bemis's part beforehand, after listening to Say Anything's 2006 release, "...Is A real Boy" (which was also supposed to be recorded as a musical of sorts), he heard a song that caught his ear, the track ,Spidersong, from that album, in which Bemis sang the lyric, "I Am the Spider, crawl inside her" he decided to make his character a spider as well. he also incorporated that lyric from Spidersong into his part in one of the songs on the album. he was asked to tour with them in 2009, but instead played only a couple shows with them alongside Chris Conley(Saves The Day, Two Tongues), as the two (Conley & Bemis) were currently working on another side project together.

Sometime in 2009, when his schedule had slowed down, He became in contact again with "Forgive Durden" Frontman, Thomas Dutton, as he reconsidered Dutton's previous offer and played a few live shows here and there with the band that now consisted mostly of people from other famous bands.
