As good an Auto Wah as you'll get

Not as versatile as a manual Wah, but still quirky and expressive enough for all sorts of applications. To my ears, the Bass input sounds better than the Guitar input when used with a guitar. I find the guitar input sounds weak and excessively trebly in comparison, so if you try it and feel the same make a point of swapping over for comparison.

Works well with an amp, less so direct to a PA or interface

Most of the presets are not to my taste, it's well worth your while building patches from scratch for tones that do work, and for the price there's a lot to choose from in terms of models and effects. I frequently use it with a Laney Cub12 and find that using the "Fd" setting can provide a very slightly dirty decidedly "Tweedy" sheen to a distinctly non-Fender-like amp. Worth the money.

Useful as long as you manage your expectations.

I'd really like to rate it 3.5 rather than 3 or 4. In a mix with other instruments this device does what it says on the tin for the most part - picked or strummed parts on a 6-string electric or electroacoustic will pass muster for vast majority of listeners. Solo, there is more of a suggestion of artificiality, and by way of a tip - the moment you attempt to pull off a bend the game's up, and the synthetic nature of the tone is revealed.

Don't get me wrong: as long as you take its limitations into account, for adding texture to a mix, and live with a band where you really don't want to lug a 12-string along this is definitely useable.

For the money? Can't lose.

I have one of these as a backup to an SM57, bought in 2013 for the princely sum of £15.00. Really just reiterating what most reviewers have said - the price difference between this and the SM57 is almost as surprising as how small the gap in recording quality is. Yes the SM57 is the thing if that little edge in quality is essential, but for 95% of users, this is more than adequate.
