Nik Farr

Nik was a late bloomer, musically speaking: after buying his first guitar at age 16, he took two years to figure out not to put his fingers on the frets (ouch) but between them (ahhh).

After making that magical discovery, he spent the next few years teaching himself to actually play the guitar. He performed in various kinds of bands - from late 90s-style radio rock to a full-on noise rock improv trio - usually as a vocalist and rhythm guitarist.

His obsession with New Wave and post-punk eventually led him to synthesize a style of playing based on those genres. Subsequently, he branched and learned to play a bit of bass and keyboards, and how to program drum machines and synthesizers. He inarguably remains the world's worst drummer.

Nik's latest project is the band DIVVISIONS, which is an attempt to blend modern electronic sensibilities with the atmosphere and songwriting of classic alternative. The best places to hear what that sounds like are the links on this page.
