About
Abandon All Ships is a dynamic Canadian band known for their unique blend of metalcore, electronicore, and post-hardcore elements. Emerging from Toronto in 2006, the group consists of Angelo Aita (vocals), Martin Broda (vocals/bass), Sebastian Cassisi-Nunez (keys/programming), Kyler Stephen Browne (guitar), Andrew Paiano (guitar), and Daniel Paiano (drums). Initially inspired by Norma Jean covers, Abandon All Ships quickly developed their own sound, integrating electronic music with heavy metalcore to create a highly energetic and eclectic style. This innovative fusion of pulsating dance beats, Auto-Tuned vocals, and intense breakdowns sets them apart in the modern rock landscape.
How to Sound Like Abandon All Ships
The sound of Abandon All Ships is characterized by an aggressive, high-energy mix that combines heavily distorted guitars with electronic elements. Their music often features sharp, rhythmic guitar riffs supported by the driving low-end of a Fender Jazz Bass, creating a foundation for their intense sonic onslaught. The use of programmed synths and electronic effects adds a layer of complexity and modernity, contrasting with the raw power of the guitars. Instruments like the ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe and Fender Jim Root Telecaster contribute to their crunchy, saturated tones, while the dynamic interplay between clean and screamed vocals adds emotional depth. This combination of electronic textures and metalcore aggression creates a vibrant, anthemic sound that is both melodic and fiercely intense.
