About

Anew Revolution is an American nu-metal and hard alternative band hailing from Austin, Texas. Formed by former Ünloco vocalist and guitarist Joey Duenas, the group also features Frank "Frankie" Salvaggio on bass and backing vocals and Rob Urbani on drums, both of whom were previously with Slaves on Dope. The lineup was later completed with the addition of lead guitarist Shaun Stockton. Known for their powerful live performances and dynamic sound, Anew Revolution has carved out a niche in the metal scene with their blend of aggressive riffs and melodic hooks, showcased in releases like their debut album Rise and its follow-up iMerica.

How to Sound Like Anew Revolution

Anew Revolution's sound is characterized by its aggressive yet melodic guitar work, making use of high-gain amplifiers to achieve a thick, distorted tone that drives their heavy riffs. The use of drop tunings adds depth and heaviness, while palm-muted chugging creates a rhythmic intensity typical of the nu-metal genre. Their music often features layered guitar harmonies and dynamic shifts, moving from clean, melodic passages with ambient effects to explosive, overdriven choruses. The bass guitar plays a crucial role in grounding their sound, often doubling guitar lines to enhance the low-end punch. Drums are tight and powerful, providing a solid backbone with precise, hard-hitting beats. To emulate Anew Revolution's sound, musicians should focus on achieving a balance between aggressive rhythm sections and melodic, atmospheric interludes.
