About
Battlecross is an American metal band that channels the intensity of thrash and melodic death metal. Originating from Canton, Michigan, the group was formed in 2003 by guitarists Tony Asta and Hiran Deraniyagala. They were soon joined by Kyle "Gumby" Gunther on vocals, Don Slater on bass, and Mike Kreger on drums, though the latter was later replaced by several drummers over the years. Battlecross has carved a niche for themselves with a sound they describe as "blue collar thrash," blending the relentless energy of old-school American thrash with the melodic elements of Gothenburg death metal.
