About
Breaking Point is a rock band originating from Memphis, TN, known for their blend of grunge pop and wrestling-themed anthems. The group consists of Brett Erickson (vocals, guitar), Justin Rimer (guitar), Greg Edmondson (bass), and Aaron "Zeke" Dauner (drums), who replaced original drummer Jody Abbott. Formed when Rimer, working at a music store, connected with Erickson over mutual musical interests, the band quickly gained traction with their energetic and raw sound. Their music found its footing in the early 2000s with the release of their debut album Coming of Age, followed by Beautiful Disorder, showcasing their evolution in sound and solidifying their presence in the rock scene.
How to Sound Like Breaking Point
Breaking Point's sound is characterized by aggressive guitar riffs and dynamic vocal delivery, creating a gritty yet melodic atmosphere. The guitars often employ distortion and overdrive pedals, providing a raw edge that complements Erickson's powerful vocals. To capture the band's energetic tone, you'll want to focus on crisp, punchy drum patterns and steady bass lines that add depth and drive. The use of tube amps can enhance the warmth and intensity of the guitar tones, while chorus and flanger effects contribute to the layered, textured sound. The overall production leans towards a live, unpolished feel, which mirrors the intensity and directness of their music, making it ideal for musicians looking to channel a similarly bold and captivating sonic experience.
