About

Callejeros is an influential Argentine rock band that emerged from Buenos Aires in 1995, initially performing under the name Río Verde. Known for their raw and energetic sound, the group blends elements of rock, Rock en Español, and cumbia villera, creating a unique musical fusion that resonates deeply within Latin alternative circles. The band consists of Patricio "Pato" Fontanet (vocals), Elio Delgado (guitar), Maximiliano Djerfy (guitar), Juan Carbone (saxophone), Christián Torrejón (bass), and Eduardo Vázquez (drums). Over the years, Callejeros has built a dedicated fanbase, particularly with their independent releases like Sed and Presión, which showcase their evolution from cover band origins to a formidable force in the rock scene.

How to Sound Like Callejeros

Callejeros' sound is characterized by gritty and powerful guitar riffs, often achieved through the use of Baccaglioni Les Paul DLX II guitars and Marshall JCM800 2210 amplifiers, delivering a classic rock punch with a modern edge. The interplay between the robust guitar tones and the dynamic bass lines of the Rickenbacker 4003 provides a rich, resonant foundation for their music. Callejeros' sound is further enriched by the expressive saxophone melodies and driving drum rhythms, creating an energetic and layered sonic experience. The band's music thrives on the balance between aggressive rock elements and the rhythmic influences of cumbia, making their compositions both infectious and emotionally compelling.
