About
Capital Inicial is a Brazilian rock band that emerged from Brasília in 1982, following the dissolution of Aborto Elétrico. Known for their contributions to the pop rock, Brazilian rock, and MPB genres, the group features Dinho Ouro Preto (vocals), Flávio Lemos (bass), Fê Lemos (drums), and Yves Passarell (guitar). Additional support is provided by Nei Medeiros (keyboards, acoustic guitars) and Fabiano Carelli (guitar, acoustic guitar). Capital Inicial has played a significant role in shaping the Brazilian rock scene, alongside contemporaries like Legião Urbana.
How to Sound Like Capital Inicial
Capital Inicial’s sound is characterized by energetic and melodic rock elements, combining catchy guitar riffs with dynamic vocal lines. Their music often features bright, overdriven guitar tones, achieved through the use of distortion pedals and tube amplifiers to maintain a balance between raw power and melodic clarity. The rhythm section provides a driving force, with punchy bass lines and crisp drumming that underpin their arrangements. Keyboards and acoustic guitars add layers of texture, enriching the harmonic depth of their compositions. The band's sound is both polished and accessible, making use of well-crafted production techniques to deliver an engaging and vibrant listening experience.
