Over the years, Chapter 8 has seen various lineup changes, including notable members like Anita Baker, who would later achieve significant solo fame. During its early years, the group also featured Rick Means, Carolyn Crawford, Gerald Lyles, and instrumentalists such as Derek Dickson, Allen E. Nance, Courtien Hale, Scott Guthrie, and Van Cephus.
