Dead In The Dirt is an Atlanta-based band known for their intense blend of grindcore, hardcore punk, sludge metal, mathcore, and powerviolence. Formed in December 2008, the group consists of Blake Connally (guitar, vocals), who also writes the band's lyrics, Hank Pratt (drums), and Bo Orr (bass, vocals), who creates the artwork for their releases. Their music is characterized by short, explosive tracks that pack a punch with violent intensity and elements of black metal, as demonstrated in their early EPs, Vold and Fear, and their debut album, The Blind Hole, released under Southern Lord Records.
