About

Deadbody is a formidable death metal outfit hailing from the San Fernando Valley, blending unrelenting intensity with a deep-seated sense of existential reflection. Comprised of brothers Taylor Young (vocals, guitar) and Colin Young (vocals, bass), alongside Miles McIntosh (guitar) and Jorge Herrera (drums), the group channels their collective experience from bands like Twitching Tongues, God's Hate, and ACXDC into a powerful sonic assault. Emerging in 2020, Deadbody has quickly become known for their dark thematic explorations and intricate musicianship, as showcased on their debut album The Requiem.

How to Sound Like Deadbody

Deadbody's sound is a visceral blend of aggressive, distorted textures and intricate rhythmic patterns, creating an atmosphere that is both chaotic and meticulously crafted. The guitars are a battering force, driven by the crushing power of Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier and Marshall JCM800 2210 amplifiers, which deliver raw, searing tones that cut through the mix with precision. The drums provide a relentless backbone, with a dynamic range that oscillates between thunderous blasts and intricate fills, enhanced by the use of Zildjian 14" A Custom HiHats. This combination of gear and technique results in a sound that is both punishing and cathartic, offering a sonic experience that is as intense as it is liberating.
