Defunkt is an innovative blend of jazz, rock, and funk, led by the visionary trombonist Joseph Bowie. Originating from the vibrant New York music scene in 1978, the group carved out a niche with its fusion of danceable jazz and radical underground sounds. Over the years, the band has seen various lineups but has consistently featured talented musicians who embrace genres like funk rock, jazz funk, and fusion.
