About
Entrails is a Swedish death metal band hailing from the deep underground of the metal scene, known for their brutal and uncompromising sound. Formed in 1990 and revitalized in the 2000s, the band is driven by the relentless vision of Jimmy Lundqvist (guitar), who has been the backbone of the group since its rebirth. The lineup also includes Pontus Samuelsson (vocals, guitar), Martin Mikaelsson (drums), and Adde Mitroulis (bass). Entrails is a masterful blend of death metal, grindcore, and black metal, with a particular emphasis on the grisly tradition of Swedish death metal.
How to Sound Like Entrails
Entrails' sound is characterized by its raw aggression and dark, sinister atmosphere. The use of HM-2 buzzsaw guitar tones is central to their sonic identity, creating a thick, grinding texture that is both visceral and unrelenting. This is complemented by heavy, bludgeoning rhythms and tightly synchronized bass and drum patterns that drive the music forward with relentless energy. The production is often dirty and abrasive, yet retains a clarity that allows for the intricate interplay of guitar riffs and brutal drum work. Layered growling vocals add to the overall intensity, often supported by occasional acoustic passages that provide a stark contrast and enhance the eerie, horror-drenched themes. To capture Entrails’ sound, musicians should focus on achieving a balance between raw power and precision, utilizing distortion-heavy settings and powerful drum configurations to replicate their fierce and haunting musical landscape.
