Faunts is an indie electronic rock band originating from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Formed in 2000, the group was initially brought together by brothers Tim Batke (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Steven Batke (vocals, guitar). The lineup expanded to include Paul Arnusch (percussion), Joel Hitchcock (keyboards), and Scott Gallant (bass), solidifying their sound with multi-layered instrumentation. After Hitchcock's departure, Rob Batke joined, contributing with keyboards and laptop manipulations. Faunts are known for their moody, introspective pop sound that blends electronic elements with rock, creating a forceful yet sweetly melancholy atmosphere. They have shared stages with notable acts such as Broken Social Scene and Stars, and their releases include the debut album High Expectations/Low Results and the EP M4.
