Hermética was a seminal Argentine heavy metal band, known for its raw, aggressive sound and politically charged lyrics. Formed in 1987 by Ricardo Iorio (bass, vocals) after the dissolution of V8, Hermética quickly became a cornerstone of the Argentine metal scene. The band also included Antonio Romano (guitar), Claudio O'Connor (vocals), and Claudio Strunz (drums), who joined in 1991. Their music spans genres like Rock en Español, Latin metal, and Argentine rock, often exploring themes of social injustice and national identity. Hermética released several influential albums, including their self-titled debut in 1989 and Ácido Argentino in 1991, before disbanding in 1994.

Hermética's sound is characterized by its aggressive, high-energy riffs and a muscular, driving rhythm section. The guitars often deliver a raw, distorted edge, reminiscent of the heavy metal acts of the late '80s and early '90s. Antonio Romano's guitar work, utilizing gear like the Stratocaster Ibanez Roadstar82 and Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, delivers powerful riffs and searing solos that capture the intensity of the band's sound. Meanwhile, Ricardo Iorio's bass lines, played on instruments such as the Fender Precision Bass, provide a thick, pronounced low end that complements the heavy guitar tones.
