About

Hollerado is an energetic indie rock and power pop band hailing from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2007, the group features Menno Versteeg (lead vocals, guitar), Dean Baxter (bass, backing vocals), and the Boyd brothers, Nixon Boyd (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Jake Boyd (drums, backing vocals). Known for their infectious melodies and spirited performances, Hollerado quickly made a name for themselves with their debut album Record in a Bag, which showcased their knack for crafting catchy, anthemic tunes. They have shared the stage with notable acts like the Flaming Lips and Weezer, cementing their place in the indie rock scene.

How to Sound Like Hollerado

Hollerado's sound is characterized by bright, melodic guitar lines and a high-energy rhythm section. Their music often features crisp, jangly guitar tones that evoke a sense of youthful exuberance, a quality often achieved using guitars like the Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH. The band's upbeat and driving rhythms create a lively backdrop for Versteeg's engaging vocal delivery, while the bass and drums provide a punchy, dynamic foundation. Effects like overdrive and modulation are tastefully employed to add texture and depth, enhancing their vibrant and accessible power pop sound.
