About
Langhorns is a Swedish band known for their vibrant fusion of rockabilly, surf rock, and exotica. Formed in 1995, the group originated as a duo with Michael Sellers (guitar) and Martin Berglund (bass), later expanding to include Rikard Swardh (drums). This trio quickly gained traction in the underground scene with their energetic live performances, eventually becoming a cult favorite in Sweden and across Europe. Their music is a lively throwback to the classic surf rock of the '60s, invigorated with modern punk rock energy and rockabilly flair.
How to Sound Like LANGHORNS
The Langhorns' sound is defined by crisp, twangy guitar tones and rhythmic, driving bass lines that harken back to the golden era of surf rock, but with a modern edge. Michael Sellers achieves a bright, cutting sound using a range of Fender Stratocasters and Fender '57 Custom Champ amplifiers, creating a tone that is both nostalgic and punchy. The snappy, energetic drumming of Rikard Swardh is powered by a Ludwig Classic Maple drum set, which lends a vintage warmth to their rhythmic drive. The Langhorns' music thrives on the interplay of clean guitar riffs and dynamic rhythms, evoking the sun-drenched vibes of surf culture while maintaining a rockabilly edge.
