Logic System is a pioneering Japanese electronic music group, formed by Hideki Matsutake, a renowned synthesizer programmer, composer, and producer. Emerging from Yokohama, the project began in the early 1980s, blending genres such as synthpop, jazz fusion, techno kayō, and cold wave. Matsutake, who was deeply influenced by the intersection of technology and music, especially after hearing "Switched-On Bach" at the 1970 Osaka Expo, became a key figure in Japan's electronic music scene. Before founding Logic System, he contributed significantly to the works of Yellow Magic Orchestra and other prominent artists. The group is best known for their albums Logic, Venus, and Orient Express, which garnered a passionate following worldwide.

Logic System's sound is a sophisticated amalgam of crisp, rhythmic electronic textures and lush, melodic synth lines, creating a soundscape that is both innovative and evocative. The music often features a precise, almost mechanical rhythm section, underscored by the iconic Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer, which adds a distinctive punch and groove. Matsutake's mastery of modular synthesis is evident in the complex layers of sound achieved through instruments like the Moog Modular III-C and the E-mu Modular Synthesizer. These tools, combined with the versatile tones of the Oberheim Eight Voice, allow for the creation of rich, dynamic soundscapes that define Logic System's unique and timeless electronic aesthetic.
