Over the years, they incorporated a rotating lineup, including members such as Jeremy McCleary (bass), Chris Turner (guitar), and Lacey VanKirk (keyboard), among others. The group was characterized by their passionate DIY ethic, integrating elements of punk and powerviolence with ambient interludes, while also sharing vocal and lyrical responsibilities.
How to Sound Like me and him call it us
To capture the raw and aggressive sound of Me and Him Call It Us, musicians should focus on creating chaotic yet precise guitar work. This involves employing heavy distortion and intricate, rapid-fire riffs that are hallmarks of mathcore and grindcore genres. Utilizing high-gain amplifiers and compression can help achieve the razor-sharp tones. Drummers should aim for a frenetic, tightly-controlled style with rapid tempo changes and complex rhythms to mirror the band’s high-energy performances. Incorporating ambient passages using effects like reverb and delay pedals can add contrast and depth, providing a momentary calm within the storm. The bass should remain punchy and aggressive, using overdrive to maintain a thick, cutting presence in the mix. Although the group’s sound is aggressive, interspersing softer, melodic elements can help recreate their unique and powerful dynamic.
