NOMO is an innovative ensemble that hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, blending the vibrant genres of jazz, funk, and Afrobeat into a unique musical tapestry. Formed in 2003 by Elliot Bergman—a University of Michigan jazz studies graduate and multi-instrumentalist—the group has seen over 60 contributors across various recordings and performances. The core lineup includes Erik Hall (guitar, Nu-Tone cymbals), Jamie Register (bass, vocals), Dan Piccolo (drums), Dan Bennett (baritone sax), Justin Walter (trumpet), Olman Piedra (congas, cajon, shekere), and Ingrid Racine (trumpet). NOMO's eclectic mix of African rhythms, avant-garde jazz, and energetic funk has been showcased on albums like New Tones, Ghost Rock, and Invisible Cities.

NOMO's sound is characterized by its dynamic, rhythmic grooves and layered, textural arrangements.
