About
Pipe-Eye is an Australian psychedelic rock project led by Cook Craig, known for his involvement with other prominent acts in the Melbourne music scene. Originally a solo endeavor, Pipe-Eye has evolved into a full-fledged group, blending elements of psychedelic rock, acid rock, and indie garage rock. Craig, serving as the primary songwriter and instrumentalist, crafts a sound that is both nostalgic and innovative, drawing listeners into a world of swirling melodies and kaleidoscopic textures.
How to Sound Like Pipe-Eye
Pipe-Eye's sonic character is a vibrant tapestry of dreamy, layered guitars and rich, analog warmth. The use of a Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus amplifier underscores their clean yet immersive guitar tones, while the EarthQuaker Devices Rainbow Machine adds an element of unpredictability with its unique pitch-shifting effects. The modulated textures and shimmering echoes are further enhanced by the EarthQuaker Devices Disaster Transport Jr., creating a lush soundscape that is both hypnotic and expansive. The incorporation of these effects, combined with Craig's distinctive guitar work, captures the essence of Pipe-Eye's enchanting, neo-psychedelic vibe.
