About

Rage of Light is a Swiss musical group pioneering the fusion of melodic death metal and symphonic metal with electronic influences, often referred to as "trance metal." Formed in 2015 by Jonathan Pellet (keyboards, programming), the band initially featured Melissa Bonny (vocals) and Noé Schüpbach (guitar). Following line-up changes, including the addition of Martyna Halas (vocals) and Simon Burri (guitar), Rage of Light has continued to evolve their distinct sound. Known for their dynamic compositions and engaging DIY visuals, they have garnered attention with releases like Chasing a Reflection and albums such as Imploder and Redemption. Their music is a powerful blend of aggressive riffs, electronic beats, and versatile vocal arrangements.

How to Sound Like Rage of Light

Rage of Light's sound is characterized by a high-energy, intricate blend of metal and electronic elements. Their music balances the aggressive intensity of melodic death metal with the lush, cinematic layers typical of symphonic metal. The combination creates a rich, dynamic sonic landscape that is both haunting and exhilarating. This fusion is enhanced by the use of synthesizers like the Korg X50, which adds a sweeping, electronic dimension to their tracks. The guitar work often employs extended range guitars such as the Solar Guitars A1.7BOP Artist LTD, delivering powerful, low-end riffs that contrast with soaring, melodic lines. The result is a sound that is both melodic and rhythmic, retaining the dramatic flair of symphonic metal while pushing the boundaries with innovative electronic influences.
