About

Rehash is a dynamic shoegaze band hailing from South Florida, known for their lush soundscapes and evocative melodies. The group originated from the creative partnership of high school friends Renzo Valdez (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals) and Ethan Lopez (Drums). They later expanded their lineup with Daseth Lopez (Fretted Bass) and Sebastian Gamez (Lead Guitar, Keyboards). Their music is a rich blend of dreamy guitar textures and atmospheric layers, drawing from the core elements of shoegaze.

How to Sound Like Rehash

Rehash’s sonic character is defined by ethereal, reverberant guitar lines and layered, immersive soundscapes. Achieving their sound involves utilizing modulation effects, such as chorus and phaser, to create a swirling, enveloping atmosphere. Reverb and delay pedals play a crucial role, providing depth and echo that build their expansive sonic environments. The guitars often maintain a balance between clean and overdriven tones, supporting the melodic vocals with a warm, enveloping backdrop. The rhythm section contributes to the band’s hypnotic feel, with dynamic drumming that complements the fluid bass lines, anchoring the band’s textured arrangements. To emulate Rehash’s sound, musicians should focus on crafting ambient layers and seamless transitions that emphasize mood and atmosphere.
