Sakanaction is a dynamic Japanese band blending elements of J-pop, J-rock, and indie music to create a unique and innovative sound. Formed in Sapporo in 2005, the group consists of Ichiro Yamaguchi (vocals, guitar), Motoharu Iwadera (guitar), Ami Kusakari (bass), Emi Okazaki (keyboards), and Keiichi Ejima (drums). Known for their ability to seamlessly combine electronic and rock influences, Sakanaction has been recognized for pushing the boundaries of modern Japanese music while maintaining strong ties to traditional pop and rock roots.

Sakanaction's sound is characterized by a fusion of clean electronic elements with rich, melodic guitar lines. Their music often features lush layers of synths and intricate guitar work, which can be achieved using instruments like the Rickenbacker 360 and Gibson ES-335. These guitars provide a clear, resonant tone that complements the band's electronic textures. Bassist Ami Kusakari's use of the Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass contributes a warm and punchy low-end, grounding their compositions with rhythmic precision.
