About

Seringai is a prominent Indonesian rock band known for their energetic blend of indorock, Indonesian indie, and funkot. Formed in 2002, the group is comprised of Arian 13 (vocals), Ricky Siahaan (guitar), Khemod (drums), and Sammy Bramantyo (bass). Seringai's music draws heavily from the influences of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, and Black Flag, creating a potent mix of high-octane rock and socially charged lyrics. Their discography includes influential works like the mini-album High Octane Rock and full-length albums such as Serigala Militia and Taring. Seringai has solidified their reputation as a live powerhouse, captivating audiences with their intense performances and were notably the only Indonesian metal band invited to open for Metallica in 2013.

How to Sound Like Seringai

Seringai's sound is characterized by a raw, aggressive energy that fuses the heaviness of metal with punk's unrelenting pace. Achieving this involves distorted, gritty guitar tones that can be emulated through the use of high-gain amplifiers and overdrive pedals. Their music often features fast-paced, punchy rhythms that are driven by tight, powerful drumming, and thundering bass lines that provide a solid, resonant backbone. To capture the band’s live intensity, musicians might consider using dynamic, responsive drum kits and compression effects to maintain clarity and punch amidst the chaos. Seringai’s arrangements are straightforward but effective, emphasizing rhythmic precision and anthemic hooks that engage listeners and energize crowds.
